Portretten/Portraits (1994). In 1994 begon ik met het op straat fotograferen van mensen. Dit was nieuw voor mij en een uitdaging. Het onderwerp was de ‘multiculturele samenleving’ zoals dat toen genoemd werd. In een café in Nijmegen hing ik om de paar weken een nieuwe serie van 5 foto’s aan de muur en dat was een goede stimulans om de straat op te gaan om nieuwe portretten te maken. Later hing de hele serie van in totaal ca. 30 portretten op diverse andere locaties. In het fotoblad FOTO werd een selectie van de foto’s gepubliceerd (1997). De foto’s werden door mij in de Donkere Kamer (DOKA) afgedrukt op barietpapier (Ilford / 30×40 cm). Dit was de analoge tijd die door de digitale tijd werd opgevolgd. De foto’s zijn later gescand en gedigitaliseerd.

Portraits (1994). In 1994 I started photographing people on the street, although this was new to me at the time and a challenge. The subject was the ‘multicultural society’ as it was called at the time. In a café in Nijmegen I hung a new series of 5 photos on the wall every few weeks and that was a good incentive to go out on the street to make new portraits. Later the entire series of approximately 30 portraits hung in various other locations. A selection of the photos was published in the photo magazine FOTO (1997). The photos were printed by me in the Dark Room (DOKA) on baryta paper (Ilford) (30×40 cm). This was the analogue era that was succeeded by the digital era. The photos were later scanned and digitized.
